Take the First Step Toward Healing with Brian Bensing, CSAT

For your convenience, Restored Therapy in Brentwood, CA offers both in-person therapy sessions and virtual counseling appointments.

Life can be overwhelming, and relationships can be challenging. Many people today carry stress, emotional pain, or struggles they feel they cannot talk about anywhere else.

At Restored Therapy, I provide compassionate counseling for individuals working through trauma, addiction, relationship struggles, and emotional challenges. As a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT), I help people gain deeper insight into the root causes of their struggles so real healing can take place.

Using evidence-based approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR therapy, our work together focuses on addressing the deeper patterns behind emotional pain rather than simply managing symptoms.

Therapy is not just about coping — it’s about building a life with greater clarity, peace, and fulfillment.

Areas of Therapy

I work with individuals facing a range of challenges, but much of my work focuses on the following areas:

Sexual Addiction Therapy

As a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT), I help individuals break free from compulsive sexual behaviors, pornography addiction, and patterns that damage relationships and personal well-being.

Trauma Therapy (EMDR)

Trauma can shape how we see ourselves and our relationships. EMDR and Internal Family Systems therapy help process painful experiences and promote deeper emotional healing.

Men's Counseling

Many men struggle to talk about emotional pain, shame, or relationship difficulties. Therapy can provide a place to explore these challenges and develop healthier ways of being in the world and showing up with ourselves to those we love.

Christian Counseling

For those who desire it, therapy can thoughtfully incorporate faith and spiritual values as part of the healing process.

Your Path to Healing Starts Here

Hi, I’m Brian.

Growing up, I dreamed of becoming a successful musician, performing at the highest level in my field. But life had a different path in store for me.

During college, I began therapy to address personal challenges and work on aspects of my life I wanted to change. It wasn’t easy. I faced deep-rooted anxiety, shame, fear, and emotions I didn’t even know existed.

When my music career didn’t unfold as I had hoped, I shifted my focus and discovered a passion for helping others through therapy. My own transformative experience led me to pursue psychology to better understand how our childhood experiences shape our minds and personalities.

What excites me most is witnessing the positive changes people experience as they deepen their understanding of themselves. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is walking alongside individuals through their pain and seeing them experience healing and growth they never thought possible.

My Approach

Beyond Coping, Toward Healing

I believe healing involves more than learning coping skills. It requires understanding the deeper emotional parts that influence our thoughts, behaviors, and relationships.

I use two powerful therapy methods:

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS helps identify and understand the different “parts” of ourselves that influence how we think, feel, and respond to life’s challenges.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR is a highly researched trauma therapy that helps process painful memories and experiences, so they no longer carry the same emotional weight.

Together, these approaches allow us to address the root causes of trauma, addiction, and emotional struggles.

The Power of Vulnerability

Therapy can be difficult.

When I first began therapy years ago, I found it almost impossible to open up because of the fear of shame. It’s not natural for most of us to be vulnerable with someone we’ve just met.

For many men especially, sharing deeper parts of ourselves can feel uncomfortable or even threatening.

But healing often begins when we are finally able to speak honestly about the things we have carried alone.

Through my own journey in therapy, I experienced a sense of freedom, integration, and wholeness that changed the direction of my life. My goal is to help others experience that same kind of transformation.

Why Choose Restored Therapy?

My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and grounded environment where meaningful healing can take place.
